I have loved pearl barley ever since I was a kid and my mum would put it into Irish stew. I wanted to make a nice barley filled chunky soup, this soup however got so thick it turned into a stew!
Now that's true until you top it with cheddar - but burritos are a handy option if you ever have to feed a mixture of Vegan/Veggies and Carnivores all at once. Throw lots of stuff into little bowls - give people tortillas and let them build their own.
Serve all your sides in little bowls and get building your burrito

It was the weekend of the brunch. We started on Saturday with a place I would like to nominate for 'Best BLT' in Dublin, The News Cafe in Blackrock. They also do a great fry - with their own recipe flat sausage - nice.
In a clean frying pan - flick in a nob of butter, until it melts.
Then pop in your pancake.
Place a big spoonful of your mixture into the centre. Push it out to be a little smaller than a postcard.
Top this with some cheese.
Fold over the edges
To make a nice little parcel - and serve.
This orange is nice - fancy fanta!

All this time the one thing that they’ve always done and talked about is cooking. Cooking together or for each other. They started writing the recipes in an old home economics copy book, once that was full to the brim they started this blog. Their cooking is as much about friendship as it is about cooking really!
We cook what we want to eat – simple as that. Please feel free to email us at lolaluskitchen@gmail.com. If you cook one of our recipes, we'd love to know - or better yet send us a picture and we'll stick it up
